Code Red sent out this message a few minutes ago.


Due to the northward track in Tropical Storm Hurricane Beryl, Calhoun County has issued a voluntary evacuation for low lying and flood prone coastal areas as of Friday July 5th at 12pm.


And Calhoun County Precinct 1 issued this:



****IMPORTANT****


11:30 AM briefing with the National Weather Service does not look good.


There’s still a lot of factors to look at, however we were informed to start making preparations for a Cat 2 and possibly a Cat 3 if the storm continues a northern tract causing it to stay over water longer to intensify. It will all depend on what happens after it crosses the Yucatan.


The next briefing will be at 5:00 PM this afternoon and I will continue to pass the information on as it becomes available.

Start preparing. We look to be getting hit by something, at the very least a lot of rain.

 
 
 

We will discuss the May Runoff election results, Trump trial, and general election updates.


Our June meeting for Calhoun County Democratic Club will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Calhoun County Library, in the community room, 200 W Mahan St., Port Lavaca.


Social/potluck is at 5.30pm and the meeting starts at 6pm.
