Our February meeting for Calhoun County Democratic Club will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the Calhoun County Library, in the community room, 200 W Mahan St., Port Lavaca.


Social/potluck is at 5.30pm and the meeting starts at 6pm. 


We are hosting Tanya Lloyd, who is running for congress in our district of CD-27.


She is a first grade teacher who is getting involved to make a difference.

URGENT! Environmental Disaster in Crane County Texas

Crane County needs help!


I am forwarding information I got from an email that Aransas County Democrats sent out.


Produced water is pouring out of a 300-foot crevice in Crane County just south of Highway 329. This was first reported on December 7, 2023, about 400 miles away from an abandoned oil well that erupted in a 200-food geyser in Jan 2022--the Texas Railroad Commission reported that it had stopped the flow about six months later. An aerial picture at the time showed two containment pits dug by the RRC.

Despite this, Cheniere has begun construction that will expand the Corpus Christi facility's capacity by 50%. and continues operating using gas-combustion turbines that emit benzene and formaldehyde.

Attention Democrats! There will be a candidate meet and greet Saturday, Jan 13, in Sinton, TX. The Butter Churn, 207 Sinton Street. The program starts at 1. If you want to purchase lunch at The Butter Churn, come early. This is an event sponsored by San Patricio County Democrats so there will be San Pat candidates. However, Dr Cathy McAuliffe, running against Todd Hunter (LD32), will be there, as will Meri Gomez, running in the US Senate race against Ted Cruz. The keynote speaker will be Tanya Lloyd, candidate running against Michael Cloud (HD27.)
